For touring cyclists, the SauerlandRadring—the hub of cycling in the Sauerland—is the ideal starting point for exploring the region by bike. Where steam locomotives once puffed along the tracks, today no cyclist runs out of breath. Largely built along old railroad rights-of-way, it connects the towns of Finnentrop, Eslohe, Schmallenberg, and Lennestadt over a total of 84 kilometers, promising a fun cycling experience surrounded by nature.
The Hennesee Loop extends the SauerlandRadring by an additional 40 kilometers to the north, connecting it to the Ruhr Valley Bike Path. The route leads through the picturesque Wennetal Valley to Meschede, past the Himmelstreppe, and back along the shore of the Hennetal Reservoir to Bremke and the SauerlandRadring.
